Not Far into 2013
Out there in the new year, where so much Beauty literally surrounded me above below side-to-side, the only difficulty to take it all in at once, what with clouds sky sun on water snow below ancient cliff stones harking back ages in evidence. I took it. Beauty not without scars & pain, but searing, penetrating, ethereal earth. Not long before its inevitable opposite entered stage left: ugliness in the form of man against nature, his & her unleashed dogs gnashing teeth & barks, if not their own human indifference seeing none of the above & only their own Narcissistic images in mirrors like chain-link fences topped with barbed-wire & broken coconut shells cast far from tropical origins. I took it. Swallowed the good & spat the rest out.
